At the 2011 Nationals in West Bend, Wisconsin, Tom and Ki finished first in ducks and seventh in cattle at the pre-trial.  Ki finished first in the two obedience pre-trials and the national trial to earn his CD.  And Ki finished seventh in the MVA competition.  Storm finished fifth in ducks at the pre-trial.

Betty and Spur won ducks in the National trial, but an injury kept Betty from completing her finals runs.  However, she did make the cut before the injury ocurred and finished second in ducks.  With Betty on crutches, she and Spur won ducks and finished third in cattle in the National trial.

An injury kept Guss out of the finals second round and he and Jim had to miss the rest of the trials.

Once again there were four of us going to the ASCA stockdog finals.  The qualifying dogs were Spur, Guss, Jack, in all three stock, and Ki in ducks.

Jim and Guss won the high combined WTCH buckle at the 2011 Rustler's Roundup in Clayton, WA.

In August at the Summer Roundup, Storm and Ki earned their RTDs titles.  Betty and Spur won all the high combined advanced awards at that trial.  Betty and Kidd were awarded Most Promising Started and Chuck and Makin'8 Eye of the Storm won the High Combined non-WTCH.

At the 2011 Cow Country Classic Tom and Ki earned the high in trial for the weekend with a 124 on the final sheep run of the final day.

At the 2011 Frenchtown Fling, Jim and Guss earned High Combined WTCH.

At the 2011 Spring Turnout, Jim and Guss earned High Combined WTCH and also earned High in Trial for the weekend.  Jerry and Jax were awarded High Combined non-WTCH, and Penny and Alice were awarded High Combined Other Breed.

At the 2010 ASCA Stock Dog Finals in Waco, Texas, Betty and Spur won High Cattle, High Sheep, fifth in ducks and High Combined.  Jim and Guss took eighth place in ducks and Tom and Ki ended up in ninth place in ducks.  Congratulations to all finals contestants for their hard work and their many successes, and a special hurrah to Betty, Jim, Mike and Tom for representing our club at this prestigious event.

Storm is featured on the cover of the 2010 Aussie Annual.  There is also a story about Tom and Storm recapturing escaped sheep in that magazine.

From our club, there are five dogs going to finals.  They are Guss, Jack, Ki, Spur and Storm.

Tom Morarre went to Nationals with Ki and Storm.  Storm made it into finals in ducks, and both dogs did well in the pre-trials and Nationals.  It was Ki's first opportunity to compete as an open dog and he won a second in ducks the first day with a 107 in the SWASA pre-trial.  He finished his open ducks in a strong wind with a 99 in the National trial.  Both dogs earned qualifying runs.  Tom said, "It was intense, but I'd do it again.  In fact, a do-over would be nice!"
