Membership in ASC of Montana

We are an diverse group with two things binding us together: Our interest in Aussies, especially

our own dogs, and our desire to improve our handling and training skills.  And one more thing:

we like to have fun!  We always welcome new members and those who want help in getting started

with their dogs (Aussies and other breeds)-- either for competition, ranch work, or basic training.

Aussies can be intense, and that is one of their desirable traits when they are working, but if they

don't have a job to do, it can become a problem.  Club members are always ready to assist new

Aussie owners with suggestions and resources that will make their relationship with their dog a

positive one.  We maintain a club group list on Yahoo where club issues may be discussed in private.

Members also use this list to get advice when needed.

There are three types of membership:

  • Individual-- regular voting member-- dues $20 annually
  • Family-- Each family member over 18 is a regular voting member.

Those under 18 are full members but cannot vote -- $25 annually.

  • Junior-- Juniors (under 18) are full members but they cannot vote -- $5.00 annually

You can apply for membership in our club by downloading the membership application and sending it

with appropriate fees to the club treasurer.  Instructions are on the form.  Memberships are renewed on

an annual basis and run from January 1st to December 31st or the calendar year.

The club welcomes members with other breeds as well as those with Aussies.  In fact, it is not required

that members have dogs.  However, since a main focus of the club is dog centered activities, most

members do have dogs with which they compete.
